Apple creates foldable prototypes. Xbox games are coming to PlayStation. Nothing in Phone 2a renders indicates the absence of Glyph UI. These headlines dominated the world of technology this week. Take a look.
Apple Foldable In The Works
According to The Information, Apple may be on the verge of introducing foldable devices, with at least two prototypes currently in development that feature clamshell-style folding mechanisms. Apple’s foray into foldable technology is not new; the tech behemoth entered this field as early as 2018.
According to sources cited by The Information, Apple is currently developing prototypes for two iPhone models that can fold widthwise, similar to a clamshell design.
However, it is important to note that these developments are prototypes, and there is no guarantee that they will be incorporated into consumer products. The project’s success ultimately depends on whether the finished product meets Apple’s stringent design standards.
Nothing Phone 2a Will Miss Glyph?
Nothing, the pioneering UK startup led by former OnePlus executive Carl Pei, is preparing to launch its latest product, the Nothing Phone 2a, in India later this month. Prior to the official launch, a leaked image of the smartphone surfaced online, shedding light on some unique design features.
The leaked image, shared by trusted source Steve H. McFly (@onleaks) in collaboration with Smartprix, shows the device’s rear side with a refreshed design in white. Curiously, The image suggests the absence of the Glyph Interface, which was present in Nothing’s earlier Phone 1 and Phone 2 iterations.
In contrast to its predecessors, the Nothing Phone 2a appears to have a transparent rear panel, which differs from the Glyph interface’s customisable LED array. Furthermore, the camera arrangement on the Nothing Phone 2a differs from its predecessors, with two vertically aligned lenses in the top-left corner, accompanied by Nothing branding and regulatory indicators at the bottom.

Pixel Fold 2 Renders Out In Wild
Google is reportedly preparing to launch the Pixel Fold 2 in an effort to increase its presence in the foldable smartphone market. Following the success of its predecessor, the Pixel Fold, which debuted last year, the tech giant is said to be making significant design changes to its next device.
Rumours about the Pixel Fold 2 have been circulating, fueled by leaked renders that appeared recently online. These renders show a sleeker form factor than its predecessor, as well as a redesigned camera module that looks similar to the OnePlus Open. Furthermore, there is speculation that the Pixel Fold 2 will be equipped with the latest Tensor G4 chipset, which would improve its performance even more.
A recent report from Android Authority revealed a single hands-on image purportedly showing the Pixel Fold 2. Notable observations from the image include a slimmer cover display that appears to be smaller than the 5.8-inch display found on the original Pixel Fold. Furthermore, insiders believe that the Pixel Fold 2’s inner screen will have an aspect ratio leaning toward a square shape, similar to the OnePlus Open form factor.
