Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were not selected because they asked the Board to take a vacation from the white-ball portion of the trip. Rohit Sharma will be in charge of the Test team. In the Test series, Virat Kohli will participate as well. KL Rahul will captain the ODI team, and Suryakumar Yadav will captain the T20I team. The Indian cricket squad will embark on a two-match Test series after three T20Is and three ODIs in South Africa next month.
