UK Crossbow Attack

After a short manhunt, police on Wednesday arrested a 26-year-old British man who had killed a radio racing commentator’s wife and two daughters with a UK Crossbow Attack in what was believed to be a “targeted” attack.

In relation to the three women’s deaths in the town of Bushey, north of London, on Tuesday night, Kyle Clifford, 26, of Enfield, north London, was wanted. The victims were John Hunt, a racing commentator for Sky Sports and BBC radio, and his wife Carol Hunt, 61, along with their two daughters, Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25.

‘KNOWN TO THE VICTIMS’

Clifford was discovered by Enfield police, according to the police, and no other suspects were being looked for. Clifford “was known to the victims.” According to police, Clifford was “receiving medical treatment having been found with injuries.”

‘MESSY’ BREAKUP

“A horrific incident involving what is currently believed to be a crossbow, but other weapons may also have been used,” Chief Superintendent Jon Simpson described it. Clifford reportedly had a romantic relationship with Louise Hunt, the Hunts’ youngest daughter, but they broke up a week ago, according to reports in the British media. Louise was severely damaged by the breakup; as the UK’s Daily Mail revealed, she recently crashed her car into a telegraph pole outside their family home.

Mother of three Carol Hunt had told friends at her neighborhood gym about her daughter’s turbulent breakup with her boyfriend. “She talked about how messy her daughter’s breakup with her boyfriend was. You could tell Carol was worried even though she didn’t elaborate,” a friend was cited as saying by The Ultimate News.

‘TRULY SHOCKING’

Yvette Cooper, the interior minister for the UK, described the deaths as “truly shocking” and stated that she was being informed about the investigation. “It is extremely shocking that three women lost their lives in Bushey last night. She wrote on ‘X’, “My thoughts are with the community, the families and friends of those who have lost their lives.

Staff members received a note from BBC Radio Five Live describing the incident as “utterly devastating.” Mark Chapman, Hunt’s coworker and fellow presenter, expressed heartfelt condolences on air on Wednesday night, stating, “This has been a heartbreaking day.” “We are deeply saddened by the tragic deaths,” Sky Sports Racing said on X, adding that “our thoughts are with our colleague John Hunt, his family, and friends at this awful time.”
