In addition to having 2,07,000 Instagram followers, Kubra Aykut had one million TikTok followers.
Influencer Kubra Aykut, a 26-year-old Turkish woman who went viral with her “Wedding without a Groom” videos on TikTok, took her own life in Istanbul. Aykut reportedly fell from a five-story luxury apartment building in Sultanbeyli district, according to reports from Turkish media.
Investigators found a suicide note at the scene of the September 23 incident.
Many fans expressed worry about Kubra’s increasingly troubling social media posts in the days before she committed suicide. She wrote a heartfelt letter on her account a few hours before she passed away, talking about her struggles with weight gain.
“I feel like I’ve got my energy back, but I’m not gaining weight. I shed a kilo each day. She wrote in her most recent post, “I need to gain weight badly, but I don’t know what to do.”
Shortly before she committed suicide, Kubra was spotted tidying her home in her most recent TikTok video.
Aykut was particularly well-known for having two million Instagram followers and one million TikTok followers.
2023 saw Kubra become extremely well-known on TikTok thanks to her inspirational and one-of-a-kind “Wedding without a Groom” series. She made a startling gesture when she declared, “I can’t find a worthy groom for myself,” while dressing elegantly in white and sporting a tiara.
Another video shows Kubra happily cheering as she drives off in a car with a bouquet in her hand. She made fun of herself by eating a burger in a different viral video while still wearing her wedding gown and referred to herself as a “nervous bride.”
The circumstances surrounding Aykut’s death are being investigated by Turkish authorities, and a post-mortem examination of her body is currently being conducted. Many other TikTok influencers are anticipated to attend her funeral, which will be held in her hometown where her parents currently reside, as a way of showing their respect.
