Tirupati Laddoo Row

Tirupati Laddoo Row: The people who were detained are Raju Rajasekharan, MD of AR Dairy (Dundigal); Apoorva Vinay Kant Chawda, CEO of Vaishnavi Dairy (Poonambakkam); and Vipin and Pomil Jain, former directors of Bhole Baba Dairy (Roorkee, Uttarakhand).

According to the officials, the accused was found to be uncooperative during a three-day interrogation in Tirupati, even though there was primary evidence linking them to the ghee adulteration case.

Numerous infractions were discovered during a probe under the pretence of providing ghee, including the use of forged seals and paperwork to secure contracts.

Allegedly, Vaishnavi Dairy falsified documents to show that it was supplying ghee from Bhole Baba Dairy, even though the latter was unable to fulfil the demand. According to the officials, the investigation uncovered inaccuracies in the documentation and disparities in the supplies.

A special committee assembled by the Supreme Court, comprising representatives from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, the CBI, and the Andhra Pradesh government, was part of the investigating team.

Tirupati Laddoo Row

The whole controversy started in September of last year when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu asserted that Tirupati laddus were made with pig fat during the state’s former government, which was led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The ruling Telugu Desam Party in the state distributed a laboratory report to support its claim, while the YSR Congress Party responded to Naidu’s accusations by accusing him of making “heinous allegations” for political purposes.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) records about the purchase of ghee during the previous regime, as well as the procedure for accepting the commodity’s quality, were confirmed by the SIT as part of the probe.
