Shaitaan Box Office

With no major competitors at the box office, Vikas Bahl’s supernatural horror thriller Shaitaan, starring Ajay Devgn, Jyotika, and R Madhavan, is steadily improving. On Sunday, it had its best single-day domestic box office performance yet.

After earning Rs 14.75 crore on its opening day on Friday, the film saw a 27 percent increase on Saturday, collecting Rs 18.75 crore. On its third day in theaters on Sunday, Shaitaan grossed Rs 20.5 crore in India, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 54 crore.

Shaitaan had an overall occupancy of 36.24 percent in the Hindi market on Sunday, with rates fluctuating throughout the day. Morning shows had a 21.35 percent occupancy rate, which increased to 37.61 percent in the afternoon and 48.58 percent in the evening shows. However, there was a slight decrease during the night shows, to 37.40%.

Shaitaan, who crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in three days, is expected to pass the crucial Monday test. Nonetheless, the film falls short of surpassing Devgn’s Drishyam 2, which earned Rs 64 crore in the same time period.

Shaitaan is a remake of the Gujarati film Vash from 2023, produced by Devgn Films, Jio Studios, and Panorama Studios. Amit Trivedi composed the music, Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti shot the film, and Sandeep Francis edited it.

Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express wrote in her movie review, “After whetting our appetites with a few well-staged command and control sequences, Ajay Devgn takes over.” And how can a hero not win, even if he has allowed himself to be beaten and bloodied up to that point?
