Ride-hailing app Uber has launched electric auto-rickshaw services in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, ahead of the Ram temple’s consecration.
“We are excited to expand our services to Ayodhya as it becomes a popular tourist destination for millions. “With this expansion, we are not only improving mobility options for tourists and pilgrims, but also creating new earning opportunities for many more people in the region,” Uber India president Prabhjeet Singh said.
The company will also launch UberGo and Uber Intercity services in the coming days. The rapidly developing mobility product will meet all inter-city travel needs between Ayodhya and other UP cities.
Uber’s operations in Ayodhya aim to provide “accessible, economical, and environmentally friendly transportation options as visitors to the holy city are expected to increase,” according to the company.
Preparations for Lord Ram’s ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony in Ayodhya are well underway.

The Vedic rituals for Ram Lalla’s Pran-Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya will begin on January 16, one week before the main ceremony.

Several tent cities are being built in Ayodhya to house devotees who are expected to visit the temple town in Uttar Pradesh for the grand ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony.
