Kuwait Building Fire: On Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the Ministry of External Affairs and other officials to discuss the tragic fire in Kuwait that killed over 40 people and injured more than 30 Indian workers.

The External Affairs team will travel to Kuwait on Thursday to assess the situation and see those injured who are currently being treated in hospitals.

“…We support the victims of the Kuwait fire incident and express our condolences to them. We met with Prime Minister Modi and will travel to Kuwait tomorrow morning. We will assess the situation and those admitted to the hospital. The Union Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh told The Ultimate News.

PM Modi convened a meeting in the national capital on Wednesday to discuss the fire incident in Kuwait, which killed over 40 people and injured 30 Indian workers.

He went on to say that the casualties are being identified and that the injured are receiving proper care.

“We have received reports that the injured were properly cared for. “The identification process for those who have died is underway…,” he stated.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Statistics stated that the majority of Indian workers are from Kerala and other parts of South India.

“The maximum people are from Kerala and other parts of South India, and the identification process is underway…,” he said, adding, “We will stay there as long as we are needed.”

A fire broke out in a building housing workers in Mangaf, southern Kuwait, early Wednesday. Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sadness over the fire incident in Kuwait that occurred early Wednesday.

PM Modi expressed his sadness over the fire in Kuwait City, saying his thoughts are with the victims’ families and loved ones.

He also stated that the Indian embassy in Kuwait is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with the appropriate authorities for further assistance.

Earlier in the day, Adarsh Swaika, the Indian ambassador to Kuwait, paid a visit to the Al-Adan hospital, which is treating over 30 Indian workers.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad al-Yousuf al-Sabah visited the site and ordered the arrest of the building’s owner, according to Al Jazeera.
