The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to declare the results for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Session 2 today, Thursday, April 17, 2025. This announcement has generated significant anticipation among the approximately 10 lakh candidates who registered for the session 2 exams, which were conducted for Paper 1 (BE/BTech) from April 2 to April 8, 2025, and for Paper 2 (BArch/BPlan) on April 9, 2025.
Candidates will be able to check their results and download their scorecards from the official JEE Main website: jeemain.nta.nic.in. To access their results, candidates will need to log in using their application number and date of birth.
Along with the results, the NTA is also expected to release the category-wise cut-offs, the list of All India Rank (AIR) holders, and the names of state-wise toppers. The JEE Main rank list will be prepared by considering the best scores of candidates from both Session 1 (held in January) and Session 2. This rank list is crucial for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process, which determines admissions to various engineering institutes across the country.
It’s important to note that the JEE Main result will display percentile scores, which indicate a candidate’s performance relative to other test-takers. The result will also indicate the qualification status of candidates for various categories, including PwD, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and EWS.
Candidates who secure a position among the top 2.5 lakh performers in JEE Main 2025 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025, the entrance examination for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The registration for JEE Advanced 2025 is expected to commence on April 23.
The NTA has also addressed concerns raised by students regarding the provisional answer key for Session 2, assuring a transparent and fair examination process. The final answer key is also expected to be released along with the results.
Candidates are advised to use only the official websites (jeemain.nta.nic.in, nta.ac.in, ntaresults.nic.in) to check their results and avoid fraudulent or unauthorized websites to prevent potential risks to their personal data. Due to high traffic on the result day, candidates are recommended to be patient and try accessing the website after some time if they face difficulties. Clearing browser cache or trying incognito mode might also be helpful.
