Indian-origin Man Jailed for Killing Mother in Uk’s Leicester

Indian-Origin Man: The 76-year-old Bhajan Kaur was discovered seriously injured on her face and head in her Leicester family home.

In Leicester, UK, a 48-year-old Indian man was convicted of killing his mother and given a life sentence.

Following a 16-day trial at Leicester Crown Court, Sindeep Singh was given the sentence. A minimum of 31 years in prison before parole is part of the sentence.

He was arrested after the Leicestershire Police discovered the deceased, Bhajan Kaur, on May 13.

Kaur, 76, was discovered with severe facial and head injuries in her Leicester family home. Police officers, who arrived at the scene, also found that ground in the rear garden had been dug up, creating a large hole.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Sinski of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit Murder Investigation Team stated, “This was a very upsetting case that revealed the extent Singh went to, to hide his tracks.”

Singh purchased a sack barrow and spade to clear the garden after murdering his mother. He had planned to bury Mrs. Kaur’s body, but he was interrupted. There was a strong disinfectant odour coming from the freshly cleaned property. He claimed that there was unmistakable proof of the plotting following her passing.

Singh originally provided false information, claiming she had no knowledge of her mother’s death, according to the police.

But as the inquiry progressed, it became clear that he had been spotted leaving the property just minutes after the police call.

The police also proved that Singh took action after a series of disputes about who should possess the family home, which he thought his late father had bequeathed to him.

“The family of Mrs. Kaur has been heartbroken by the loss of their beloved mother, and this has been a very difficult and upsetting period for them. Throughout the investigation and the ensuing court hearings, they have displayed a great deal of bravery and dignity,” Detective Sinki stated.

It is regrettable that the family had to watch the procedures and hear the specifics of Mrs. Kaur’s last moments as this case came to a trial. Their situation is far from simple; they have lost a loved one and must now deal with Mrs. Kaur’s life was taken by one of their own,” he added.

The court was informed during the trial that Singh had previously been reported by Kaur for his actions, and that he had even been detained on charges of coercive and controlling behaviour before being freed on bond.

The inquiry also found that Kaur had allowed Singh inside the house on the day of the murder, and that Singh had been residing in his car in the driveway.
