The fourth accused, Feroz, was arrested by the Haryana Police, according to the DGP, who also stated that the two remaining accused would be apprehended soon.
Bains, a close aide to slain singer Sidhu Moose Wala, narrowly escaped unharmed in the firing incident that occurred on the intervening night of February 26 and 27 at Katani Premium Dhaba in Mohali’s Sector 79. No one was injured. The police filed a case under the Arms Act and launched an investigation.
According to the DGP, the handlers carried out the crime on the orders of foreign-based absconding gangster Gaurav Lucky Patiyal of the Davinder Bambiha gang in order to extract ransom money from Bains, one of the restaurant’s partners, who allegedly received an extortion call a few days prior.
