New Chief Minister of Haryana Nayab Singh Saini

A new political crisis erupted in Haryana on Tuesday, resulting in the abrupt resignation of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his entire cabinet. Khattar was replaced by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Nayab Singh Saini, who took the oath as Haryana’s chief minister hours after Khattar resigned.

The crisis began in the state when Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala’s Jannayak Janata Party announced its withdrawal from the state’s ruling alliance.

After forming the new government in the state, CM Saini will demonstrate his majority on the floor of the house.

Saini said on Tuesday that they had presented the governor with a letter of support from 48 MLAs ahead of Wednesday’s floor test.

Saini has asked Governor Bandaru Dattatreya to convene the Haryana Assembly’s Wednesday session.

“We have requested that the Speaker conduct the floor test tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the Vidhan Sabha. “We informed the Governor about the support of 48 MLAs,” Nayab Singh Saini told The Ultimate News.

The Haryana Legislative Assembly, which has 90 members, has 41 BJP members, six independents, and the only Haryana Lokhit Party MLA, Gopal Kanda. The JJP has ten legislators in the House, the main opposition Congress has thirty, and the Indian National Lok Dal has one MLA.

In the first cabinet meeting chaired by Saini following his oath of office, he stated that a resolution was adopted to thank the outgoing Khattar cabinet for its efforts.

In addition to Saini, five MLAs took oaths as ministers. Kanwar Pal (Jagadhari), Mool Chand Sharma (Ballabhgarh), Jai Parkash Dalal (Loharu), and Banwari Lal (Bawal) are all from the BJP, while Ranjit Singh Chautala is an Independent MLA.

Anil Vij, former home minister and six-term MLA, was also on the list of ministers scheduled to take oath, according to Khattar, but he was unable to attend. When asked if Vij was upset, Khattar responded, “Anil Vij is our senior colleague…” He gets upset from time to time, but he eventually returns to normal.

There have been many incidents in the past where Vij became upset about something, but things returned to normal.” Khattar also hinted that he could be fielded by the party in the Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to reporters, Khattar stated that the party’s top brass has informed him that another responsibility will be assigned and that “it may be decided soon”.

Meanwhile, former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupiner Singh Hooda responded to the incident by claiming that the BJP-JJP had accepted defeat prior to the elections.

Hooda said in a statement, “It is clear from this decision that a failed coalition government was running in the state, completely disillusioning the people. As a result, the government and chief minister had to be replaced shortly before the elections.
