A New York judge ordered former US President Donald Trump to pay more than $350 million in damages in a civil fraud case. In the final ruling on the case, issued on Friday, the judge also barred Trump from doing business in the state for three years. The former US President slammed the court’s decision, calling it a “complete and total sham”.
According to the BBC, Trump has denied committing fraud and is expected to file an appeal, putting the decision on hold while a higher court reviews the case. To avoid paying the fine or having his personal assets seized, he must deposit the entire amount within 30 days, according to the BBC.
The trial lasted more than two months, with testimony from 40 witnesses, including former US President Trump, his adult children, and top Trump Organization executives, which was at times contentious.

Donald Trump Accused Judge Arthur Engoron Of Targeting Him
In a separate post on Truth Social, Trump accused Judge Arthur Engoron of targeting him in the case. He described the decision in the New York case as a “witch hunt” and claimed that he was fined USD 355 million for nothing more than having built a “great company.”
